This issue has been especially created by the artists Gardar Eide Einarsson, Matias Faldbakken, and Oscar Tuazon.

In 2011, far-right terrorist Anders Breivik initiated a large-scale terrorist attack by detonating a van bomb at the government buildings in central Oslo. Shortly after the attack, Matias Faldbakken joined a visit to the buildings organized to assess and document the damage, notably to a series of murals by Pablo Picasso. The murals, sandblasted directly onto the concrete walls of the building by the Norwegian artist Carl Nesjar, are the first in a series of monumental works in concrete realized by Picasso, and mark the beginning of a working relationship that would continue for the rest of Picasso’s life.

The status of these defaced murals, and the peculiar Picasso/Nesjar collaboration, were the starting points of an exhibition entitled Chez Perv at Team Gallery, New York, organized by Gardar Eide Einarsson in the spring of 2014. This issue of PARIS, LA documents that exhibition and the aftermath, a three-way conversation on authorship, artistic labor, and perversion.
